What is it?
It is a Chinese pastry / dessert made of glutinous rice flour, coated with sesame on the outside to make it crisp and at the same time chewy. It is filled with a sweet lotus / black bean paste. Its texture is interesting - gooey like mochi - but counterbalanced with with the crispness of the deceptively dense look from the outside.
